July 2007 | Dan responded to my last post with this picture, taken in HK recently by his friend Anna. He also added a useful comment: "this pic sorta explains why everyone uses electronic devices on the MTR instead of reads... they're conditioned from a young age."

Initial thought: Funny!
After thought: A bit sad for the Hong Kong people. I don't think they think much of reading anymore, or even watching the news to find out what is going on in the world.
The kids I know in HK seem to only care about their pop stars, and the latest phone models. I worry for HK and its future, where this, to me, fading city has to depend on this crowd to support it. I think Hong Kong people still look down on the mainlanders, but why, I don't know and understand.
